7-26-09 Barn Fire
On July 26, 2009 at about 10:30 pm we Companies 2, 4 and 1 responded to a barn fire on
Van Orden Road in West Milford Township.
First arriving police units reported a fully involved structure in the rear yard.
The barn was struck by lightning during a thunder storm.
There were two horses in the barn at the time of the fire one escaped the blaze the other was struck by lightning and died from injuries as a result of the lightning strike.
